As important as we might like to think critical acclaim is, what ultimately matters most to carmakers is buyer acclaim. The Genesis GV70 launched for the 2022 model year to both, cataloging fawning reviews and jumping to the top of the brand’s sales chart. With the stylish, sporty SUV entering just its third year on the market, Genesis isn’t changing much for the 2024 GV70, just adding more of a good thing to its good thing.
For 2024, a Wi-Fi hot spot is now standard on all GV70s. Even the base 2.5T now rolls on 19-inch wheels, and the 2.5T Sport Prestige gains standard ventilated front seats, manual rear door shades, a 16-speaker Lexicon audio system and autonomous parking. All 3.5T variants now boast Genesis’ Highway Driving Assist 2 semi-autonomous hands-free driving system, as well as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist 2, which offers increased monitoring to help avoid more types of collisions. The 3.5T Sport Advanced is also now available with 21-inch alloy wheels.
Trim Levels and Performance
The 2.5T Standard comes equipped with synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, wireless phone charging and a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. A thorough suite of standard safety tech includes lane-centering steering assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control. The 2.5T Select adds a panoramic moonroof, ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The Advanced trim adds real leather, a 360-degree camera system and automated parking. The Sport Prestige includes 21-inch wheels, three-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and numerous styling tweaks inside and out. The larger engine’s three trim levels roughly track the feature content of the 2.5T’s three top levels: 3.5T Sport to 2.5T Select, 3.5T Sport Advanced to 2.5T Advanced, and Sport Prestige to Sport Prestige.
As with 2023, two engines are available: a 300-horsepower, turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a 375-hp, turbo 3.5-liter V-6. Both are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
