The 2021 Genesis G80 is a mid-size luxury sedan that has been redesigned. This year introduces much sleeker exterior styling with quad-style headlights and a massive chrome front grille which matches its bigger SUV cousin – the GV80. It competes with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, and Lexus ES Series.
Two trims are available: 2.5T and 3.5T.
Under the hood, the G80 has two engine options: a standard 300-hp, turbocharged 2.5-liter V-6 engine and a more powerful 375-hp, twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6. Both engines are mated to the same eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) comes standard, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is available.
Fuel economy for the 2.5T RWD has the best EPA-estimated rating of 23/32 mpg city/highway. It slightly lowers to a 22/30 mpg rating. For the 3.5T RWD, the rating decreases to a 19/27 mpg rating. The 3.5T AWD has the lowest rating of 18/26 mpg.
