Whatever you do, stay far away from Automax Killeen (Hyundai, Ford, VW, etc.). Like a fool, I’ve dealt with these people on three separate purchases and multiple service visits — and every time has been a nightmare. They are the definition of con artists and completely unprofessional. The latest debacle: I dropped off my car six days ago for a check engine light. They forgot about it, then told me it just needed an oil change. When I refused to pay a $300 diagnostic fee, they suddenly wanted $410 for an oil change. After pushing back, they “settled” for $110 — and sent me off with the car still in limp mode, forcing me to drive home at 40 mph after nearly a week in their shop. To top it off, when I bought my Sonata from them, they failed to register my warranty, which led to a denied warranty claim later on. Please, save yourself the headache and stay far away from Automax Killeen.
