Unsafe omissions, unethical, sketchy

Reviewed by Ian from OklahomaJuly 16, 2023

Unethical sales, omitting safety defects (frame rot/rust, broken air bag, etc. Would not recommend this place unless you enjoy unethical sales tactics and overall dismissal of safety defects and or gross incompetence. Went to buy a used car. Looked great until you actually take a look. Car had (most importantly) frame rot/ rust, broken passenger air bag, broken speakers (less of an issue). None of these issues were disclosed. I offered to buy the car at a discounted value (given its structurally unsound). They countered 200 dollars off a 35k dollar car. So they would not hear the issues and would not make a deal. That’s no problem there are plenty with no rust and dealers who listen to your concerns. No real issues with the floor salesmen nice guy just wasn’t aware as far as I can tell. The part that is more interesting is getting a text from the internet director of Joe cooper ford. He started by asking me if I was still interested. I let him know I was happy with the customer service but there were safety issues and I was just going to find one somewhere else. I told them would have bought the car that day had they been willing to address those issues. Given the experience I probably would go somewhere else as well when in purchase my wife’s bronco. His reply: sorry about that but you don’t need to worry about it anymore because a customer bought it…. This car has been on the lot 80 days and no one would touch it so I find it hard to believe someone bought it 1 hour after I looked at it. I have no desire to waste my life (other than this novel of a review) verifying the claim but even if it were true i guarantee this customer was not disclosed these safety issues. In the next sentence “we would love to help your wife find a Bronco” In short… there are plenty of dealers out there. Go to one with some integrity. You’ll thank yourself in the long run. This is the epitome of sketchy dealerships and it makes since that Joe Cooper

Bad car purchase

Reviewed by Eva scott from Oklahoma cityJune 27, 2023

Purchased car 4-11-23. Today is 6-27-23. Took car in for maintenance. Oil change etc. service department advised the truck needs fuel injections changed. I was told when I purchased the car it had a 72 point inspection. How do I need to pay 276 dollars for what should have been replaced. I keep calling and leaving messages for sales personnel Chris Wilkerson and David cox. They are ghosting me. This has been a really bad experience for me,m.

About Joe Cooper Ford of Edmond

We are a third generation auto group started by my grandfather Claude Cooper who was widely known as the ?best mechanic in Canadian County.? His first franchise was the Yukon Oldsmobile dealership which he purchased from the local funeral home director who had actually performed funerals and sold cars out of the same building. True story.
My father Jackie Cooper took over running the Oldsmobile dealership after my grandfather had a heat stroke while working on a customer?s car in the hot Oklahoma sun. When my father was later approved at the age of 21 to be the Oldsmobile dealer for Yukon it made him the youngest new car dealer ever recognized by a major auto company.
Our family has been in the car business since 1946. Like anyone else we make mistakes; but when we do we will always make it right for our customer. The good examples set by my grandfather and my father instilled in the Cooper family the basic principles we always follow: honesty valuing relationships earning and keeping the trust of our customers treating people like you?d want to be treated and being easy to do business with. Thank you for shopping with us!
