Writing this in regards to my mother in law.

Writing this in regards to my mother in law. She took the car she bought from them in for service & oil change on May 16th. They supposedly did a full inspection & changed all filters. One week later the car’s fan starting making a terrible noise. She took it in, they had her sit there for 4 hours. Told her that in one week a rodent built a nest from fender to fender, that it was a strong rodent because it bent metal, then charged her over $400.00 to “clean out the nest”, replaced a filter that supposedly was changed a week earlier, never fixing the fan or noise. Donley told her the engine needed to be removed to fix the fan & it would not be covered under her extended warranty. Had her take it to another Ford dealership, fan is being fixed under warranty, engine does not need to be removed. Donley saw an elderly widow & took advantage. This is sad & pathetic.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We don’t take feedback like this lightly as we pride ourselves in being a transparent and honest group of people and location for you to service your vehicle without worry of this type of situation happening. We were advised on arrival that the vehicle was making a noise. We were able to diagnose and discovered that a rodent had made a nest in the blower box. We removed the cowl, cleaned out the nest to the best of our ability, but the damage was already done to the blower. The nest wrapped around inside the blower and was causing it to be out of balance, which was causing the noise. Parameters set by Ford mandate that we can’t place a repair under warranty that is not a quality issue from Ford, but a failure caused by an outside source. The nest did cause the blower motor to fail but it is not needed to remove the engine for this repair. If the nest were large enough, you may have to remove part of the dash to do a thorough cleaning of the air ducts but that was not determined during that visit. We did have the vehicle for almost 5 hours and only charged for 2 of those hours. We are very sorry if some of this wasn’t completely clear when explained. We do not want your Mother-in-Law to feel that she was being taken advantage of and hope that once the repair is done everything works out as you are hoping.
