Service department needs to record their service people and how they talk to customer. I just had the granddaddy of them all worst, rudest rep in my entire life. I called to ask 4 questions about my car that was taken in on Monday to check vehicle engine problems. He called me on TUES morning and told me my engine needed replacing and it would be 3 months. My warranty ran out in Dec, but these MKZ have been having engine problems across the board and he said he had to replace some just recently. Why aren't they recalled. So, I rented a car for 200 for 3 days on Wed for work. I work at Ford. On Friday I added up and it would be almost 1500 a month to rent. So I called him and asked these 4 questions only. He ranted and raved like I was talking regularly to him and arguing. I wasn't. I didn't have a chance. Here are the 4 questions: 1)Can Village help with renting a car as they were expensive (I didn't ask for them to pay it, at all) After him arguing by himself as I couldn't talk. I asked the next question. 2) If my car is waiting on an engine can I come and get it til it does. He argued again for several minutes. I didn't have a chance to say a word. Then he said the MAGIC words. "Your car hasn't been looked at yet. Then the 3rd question. 3) If it hasn't been looked at, why did you tell me 3 months and it was my engine? More arguing with himself. Then I asked the last question. 4) So can I still come and get the car because I can't afford the rentals. Pete at the service department just kept arguing, and his staff must have thought I was too. I wasn't until the end when I asked for his supervisor and he had made me so mad by them, I screamed it to get over his VOICE. So I came and in and was told they were finishing up on the recall and it would be ready. When I came in they avoided me like I had leprosy. Handed me the papers without a signature saying that I was refusing service. A lie, I didn't say that. They just NEVER did it. I only want one thing from this dealership. They put a recording device on this reps phone to show the customer isn't arguing, its him, and him alone. I will never step foot in this abusive place again and am turning this into Ford HQ. My HQ rep told me that if they didn't quote you a price, it was being covered. He didn't quote anything but showed the rudest customer service relations that a company could and had they recorded the conversation. He made me out to be a disgruntle customer as I should be because my car wasn't even looked at when he called me to tell me 3 months and embarrassed me.
