I brought my car to Spartanburg Jeep because it was making an extremely loud noise that was clearly not normal. The car was overheating, and I trusted the service team to figure out why. After leaving it overnight, I was told nothing was wrong—that the fan was just blowing loudly because of the heat outside. Believing the staff knew what they were talking about, I accepted their answer and went on my way. About a month later, while in Charlotte, my car started beeping and a light came on informing me that the car had overheated again. When we checked the coolant, it was completely empty. We refilled it, only to find just a few hours later that it had drained again. That’s when we discovered a crack in the pipe that was causing the leak—the real issue that Spartanburg Jeep completely missed. This had been the issue all along, since before the visit to Spartanburg Jeep. Because I had unknowingly been driving for weeks with no coolant, the damage snowballed. The head gaskets blew and several other components failed, leaving me with nearly $10,000 in repairs. To make matters worse, when I originally brought the car in, the mileage was still under 75,000—meaning it was covered under my extended warranty. But because Spartanburg Jeep failed to diagnose the problem, I kept driving it at their “all clear,” and by the time the real issue was uncovered, the car had passed 75,000 miles and the warranty no longer applied for much of the damage that's now been done to the car. Thankfully, Concord Jeep has since been nothing but professional and helpful, and I would highly recommend them—even though they’re over an hour away. Unfortunately, Spartanburg Jeep was the complete opposite. The service manager, John Wright, was dismissive, unprofessional, and downright rude in his responses. His lack of accountability and compassion is unacceptable and reflects terribly on the dealership. His own staff even said they disagree with him and think he's completely out of touch and out of line, and that their team should be responsible. That speaks volumes. Spartanburg Jeep’s negligence cost me thousands of dollars and a valid warranty, and their management’s behavior and lack of accountability only made the situation worse. I strongly recommend avoiding this location and taking your business elsewhere to a dealership that values integrity, accountability, and customer service. We will be taking legal action given the documentation we have from both Jeep locations showing clear negligence on Jeep Spartanburg's part. We gave them the option to fix the issues that they missed, as some issues were covered under a 100,000 mile warranty, while others would have been covered under 75,000, which is Jeep Spartanburg's fault for not catching it while we were still under that mileage. Concord Jeep has gotten that business taken care of with the warranty coverage for 100,000 miles since I'm still under that number, and the remaining repairs that Spartanburg Jeep missed, which would have cost next to nothing for them to repair, were rejected. The disgruntled and downright disgusting reaction from John Wright when bringing this issue to his attention will be the reason this gets taken a step further with my legal team.
