Spent close to 2 months trying to find the vehicle that I wanted with the specific set of options that I was looking for, found exactly what I was looking for at Tasca. Was looking for a new vehicle, but they had a 2019 with 24k miles listed for $47,000 and I decided to make an appointment to view the vehicle on 8/29/2020. Drove 2 hrs down to the dealership and viewed the vehicle, it was exactly what I was looking for and I wanted to make a deal that day. They informed me at that point that they did not yet have the title on hand so they could not complete the transaction, so I left a $5k down payment. 9/4/2020 I called the dealership to get an update, they told me that they had the title on hand and that I could come down the next morning to complete the transaction. 9/5/2020 I went down an completed the transaction, no one ever mentioned anything about an issue with the title. When working with Devin on the financing we noticed that they had a $150 fee for registering the vehicle, we informed him that we would like to register the vehicle on our own because in NH it is a simple process. Devin informed us that due to regulations the dealer has to register the vehicle on our behalf if we are financing. This seemed odd to me, but we thought maybe it was a RI specific regulation, we did not realize that was actually the first of an elaborate set of lies to hide the fact that they did not actually have the title.
On 9/15/2020 I called Christina our sales person to check and make sure that nothing more was needed from me to complete the registration. She told me that nothing was needed, that the title and registration had been submitted to my townhall already and that any day we should have the completed registration. On 9/21/2020 after still not hearing anything from Christina and knowing that my temp tags where about to expire I called again to see if she had any update. Christina once again said that everything had been submitted and it must be my local townhall that is holding things up. She also informed me that RI due to covid had extended the 20 day temp tags to be 90 day temp tags. I asked her if she could provide me with any information I could keep in the car that showed that to be true, she said she did not have anything on hand but was certain that it was true (I very frequently drive all around the north east and knew that I would be pulled over for having expired tags). On 9/23/2020 I called Christina again and she once again told me that everything has been submitted and my town hall is the issue. So I called town hall and they where very helpful, checked all of the piles of mail and even the new mail that had arrived that day, they had nothing from Tasca. At this time I also searched the RI DMV website for proof on the temp tag extension and found nothing for vehicle purchased in September. I reached out to the RI DMV and they had informed me that no such extension existed. Confronting the dealership with this information they agreed to provide me with a rental. Also on this same day Devin from finance told me that they would refund the $150 registration fee.
9/24/2020 I made the 2 hr drive back down, dropped off my truck and picked up a rental. They had said they would give me something comparable to what I had purchased from them, but on arrival all they had to offer was a jeep wrangler. I mentioned to them that would work, but if this stretched on for another week they would have to provide me a truck as I was building a deck in NY the following week and needed to haul lumber. They agreed, but assured me that everything would be resolved before then. I once again talked to Christina and she assured me that everything was being submitted and all paper work was in order. Devin came by and told me that they use a 3rd party company to do the registrations out of state and that the delay was with them, Devin mentioned that he would call them to ensure they expedite the process and once ag

My husband and I drove 100 miles round trip to this dealership after emailing extensively about a particular vehicle. We told them multiple times we will only make the trip if it seems we can make a deal, and gave them our price ranges, vehicle info etc. They seemed to be in agreement. We drove down, met with them, decided we liked the vehicle and began to talk numbers. They could not even come close to what we had discussed previously, and we left without making a deal. Whoever came out with the sales rep to try and speak with us seemed to have no interest in why we were upset, and just keep telling us that he didn’t own the dealership and his name “wasn’t on the top”. We also showed him that their website showed the price as a few thousand dollars less. He explained this away by saying it’s the entire dealer site....which to us, is not our problem and that is the advertised price. The vehicle in question has been on their lot quite some time, and when asked what they’d be making off the sale, he continued to deflect. After leaving, we expected to hear something from them, even an apology for putting an extra 100 miles on the vehicle we want to sell....nope, nothing. We called them back a day later and offered to meet more in the middle as we liked the car, and they needed it gone. They again refused to budge from their price and we have heard nothing from them since. Poor customer service, took no responsibility for anything, and refused to even attempt a deal despite saying they wanted to come to one. Obviously they thought they were dealing with someone who didn’t know what they were buying or selling. Would not go back or recommend. Very very disappointed. Wish dealerships could be up front and honest, instead of always having something up their sleeve.
