Alysha went beyond what she had to do .
Alysha went beyond what she had to do ... and the service mechanic was so helpful!! Apparently a sensor was bad, and a simple fix. So thankful since I didn't have to drive 2 hrs with blowing cold air inside my Jeep, then returning, leaving my Jeep for a day or so (difficult when you live 2 hrs away). All avoided, problem corrected in less than an hour, because Alysha was willing to think out of the box!!! So thankful!!!!

All avoided, problem corrected in less than an hour, because Alysha was willing to think out of the box!!! So thankful!!!!

I had originally scheduled for an oil change and spark
I had originally scheduled for an oil change and spark plug replacement, with the oil change being no charge as I purchased the Dodge Journey at Southern. The website scheduling did not reflect this and I was unable to change or note this in the appointment setup. The quote for plug replacement on the site was just over $220 including parts and tax. I was not having any issues with the vehicle running, just wanted to replace the plugs for maintenance. When I arrived at the service center to check in and drop the vehicle, I gave the vehicle info and stated the above to confirm the correct charges. The service advisor then confirmed my vehicle info and that it was bought there so the oil change was no charge, but then said the plug quote was way off, first saying that probably did not include the parts. I said the quote was including parts and tax and had printed it from website though did not have with me. She then said would have to check for correct price and left her station, returning after a few minutes stating my car needed a tune up and that the plugs alone were $255, was waiting on the labor. I stated that was ridiculous as the standard plugs can be bought at any auto parts store for $20-30 (I actually had bought set recently as had originally intended to replace myself) and that the car did not need a 'tune up' as there is nothing to tune (as in the old days with points / carburetor / etc), only asked for spark plug replacement and did not even actually need it. I then said that if the charges / website are that excessive / inaccurate, they either need to maintain the website with claimed charges or remove from site if not going to do so. I then stated to just forget the plugs and do the oil change, service rep then said I would have to go tell the advisor same (Ariel), so went to service bay and told Ariel same, reconfirmed no charge for oil change and added would wait in lounge for notice when change done. A short time later, I received a text stating to check with recommendations, doing so and stating recommends for fuel treatment / tire rotation / brake fluid exchange totaling over $300. Rather than attempt an incorrect entry on the text, I went back out to Ariel and stated periodically do fuel treatments on the car (Seafoam) / had purchased new tires in last year and get free balance with rotation at purchase location, no issues with brakes so do not need any of that. Ariel responded acknowledging would let tech know declined recommends but said tech told her tires with greater tread on rear and need to be rotated. I stated had just taken vehicle few weeks prior to branch of where tires bought for balance / rotation, if tires not properly rotated will take that up with them as supposed to have been done then and asked if had tread measurements. Ariel said would have to check w/tech, I asked her to do so as bought 2 tires separately for front and rear within about 6 months of each other, so treadwear should be close but if tread higher on rear tires then were not rotated as requested. Ariel said would check w/tech and let me know, I went back into lounge to await info. After about 10-15 minutes I decided to walk outside briefly and saw my vehicle parked in front of service area. As I was walking back to bay to ask what was going on, she came outside and said oil change had been done. I said that fine, had been waiting on tire tread info so can go back to tire shop and have them correctly rotate tires, she said tread on rear tires 9's and 8's on front (9/32 and 8/32 assumed). I then went inside bay with her, she printed my receipt and gave me keys, I went to vehicle and checked oil level to make sure as usually do after change, then left. Bottom line to all above, had it not been for quick turnaround on oil change would have rated 1. If Southern is now acting as the vast majority of other dealerships on excessive pricing for services, then will no longer get vehicle service there.
