Get a second opinion after they quote you. It's an Arm and a Leg plus shop fees. If you value your hard earned money. Do yourself a favor and save up or get ripped off.

I brought my family's 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan here last summer, where it spent three months. The problem was the brakes felt soft and spongy. I was given an estimate of over $2000 to fix the brakes. The brakes had been serviced here less than two years prior but they would not honor the Mopar two year warranty. I paid over $1100 for new rear calipers and pins, declining to replace the master cylinder and booster, but the brakes FELT EXACTLY THE SAME. And now the car pulled to the right very badly. More on the brakes later. I returned the van to the service center and was told that the alignment was fine and the rear caliper was causing the pull to on side as it was not working properly. I picked up the van the following day. My mechanic just blocks away looked at it and in seconds knew it was a tire. He looked and saw a tire with a belt protruding. He placed the bad tire on the rear and the car stopped pulling. Apparently I needed new tires, but how could your mechanic misdiagnose this so poorly? As if someone was trying to coerce me into getting unnecessary brake work done. What I was told when our van was first in the shop that the problem was the rear calipers, but then more issues were discovered. The ABS module was bad. I was told that even with a flush there may be corrosion that could damage the master cylinder and brake booster. I declined to replace the booster and cylinder and had the ABS unit replaced. The brakes are acting the same as they did in May as if the ABS unit was not the issue causing the brakes to feel soft. After I came back I was told that the service manager had warned me that the brakes still would not be working right until the master cylinder and booster was replaced. This was absolutely false. I was told that IF there was still contamination (I was never given any explanation on what this “contamination” was or where it came from) that it might damage some brake system parts. Not only is there no brake fluid leaking into the booster (I confirmed this visually) but whole brake issue was fixed when my mechanic, two blocks away, replaced the front rotors and pads. The very same rotors and pads that were put on at your dealership in early 2018. You can see how unevenly these rotors were worn. The pads were of very cheap quality, despite me having paid over $800 for the set with calipers. On my invoice on the very first page is the following sentence. “Also removed the master cylinder to inspect it and found rear seal to be leaking fluid into the booster,” I’d be happy to let you take a look at the dry booster with no brake fluid leaking into it. That is the same problem I had in 2017. That is why I brought it to the dealership so I could make a case that the Mopar warranty should cover this. I brought it in within the two year warranty. The amount of miscommunication at this service center is staggering. I was told more than once that a part was in stock or on its way, only to be told later that it wasn’t in stock or that the wrong part had been ordered. I was also told several different diagnosis and the severity of said diagnosis during this more than three month ordeal. In end I left with a vehicle in the same condition as when I left, but it cost me $1126.47. This could be fixed by refunding my money.

When the check engine light comes on in a car barely over a year old and the “service” department won’t even consider looking at it for a week, that is the opposite of customer service. Future services and purchases will happen at another area dealership that was able to work me in to their schedule the next day.
