Went vehicle shopping for my wife and found a car we
Went vehicle shopping for my wife and found a car we liked. Once we sat down to talk numbers, the salesperson brought us their offer, and we started negotiating. We told them the number we wanted to stay around, but they wouldn't budge. Then a manager named Pablo walked in. The first thing he said was that he was "very busy" and was taking time out of his day to talk to us -- even though we never asked to speak with him. He asked what our absolute max number was, so we told him. We were only about $92 apart. We explained that we did not want to go above our number. Pablo then said, "Are you really going to let three dollars a day stop you from getting this vehicle?" We said yes -- our number is our number. Then he said that three dollars a day for 84 months was "around $7,600." I'm not sure why he thought that helped, because that only confirmed that we weren't going any higher for an extra "three dollars a day." We told him we'd just keep shopping around until we found something within our budget. Pablo replied that we "wouldn't be able to do that anywhere." I told him I've done a lot of research, and we want the best option. He then said that whatever research we've done, he's done more. Well, I would hope so -- selling cars is his job. He also told us that you can't take money to the grave. The negotiation ended with him saying, "I think it's best if we party ways here," then standing up and storming out without a goodbye or anything. Easily the most unprofessional car-buying experience we've ever had. We drove down the road and bought a Cadillac two hours later. Go shop at Landers -- wayyyyyy better experience.
