Horrible Experience - Complete disrespect

Reviewed by Jonathan Acevedo from NashvilleOctober 28, 2020

Honest/review of Jones Chevrolet in Lexington Tennessee. Heres a recap of my recent/ongoing experience with this dealer. It went Terribly 10/16 – Arrive at dealer at 1pm. Deal is almost done, Trade my car and drive jeep home basically. Find out after arriving that jeep is having electrical issue making it not drivable. I drove 100 Miles/1.5 hours to dealer for my PLANNED APPOINTMENT. They made no mention of issue and completely wasted my time. They tell me they’ve ordered replacement part and can deliver Jeep to me on Tuesday. They insist on holding onto my trade in and giving me a loaner vehicle for weekend. I agree. Salesman Burl told me I’d receive a call on Monday from finance manager and vehicle will arrive next day. 10/19 – No call from Finance manager or Salesman. 10/20 - No call from Finance manager or Salesman. 10/21 - No call from Finance manager or Salesman. 10/22 THRUSDAY - Different Finance manager calls. Does not have much information on the deal we had. Includes a 3k Warranty on purchase agreement that was NEVER agreed upon. (he removes this rather quickly). I explain that salesman has not been professional/does not update/follow up with customer. Finance Manager mentions “ we hear that often from his customers” -I’M SORRY WHAT- Eventually we agree on deal, says vehicle will be delivered first thing Friday morning.. 10/23 FRIDAY – No delivery occurs in morning; I reach out to finance manager asking for an update. He notes “Just wanted to keep you in the loop. I have some logistical problems on my end with the drivers. Too many deliveries and not enough drivers due to fact we only use older men within excellent driving record. They will be here shortly.” IS HE BRAGGING OR MAKING EXCUSES!? 10/23 Friday Late afternoon – text from manager “It’s looking like the GPS ran them the wrong direction to a delivery in LOUSISANA so we will have to shoot for first thing in the morning. (700 Mile mistake, whoops) 10/24 Saturday – As predicted no delivery, get a call from Finance manager with his sad-voice on apologizing that the original electrical issue has not been resolved and vehicle is having same issue as LAST FRIDAY!! I tell him I will not be buying their jeep and please have my car delivered back to me. He is polite and apologetic at least. He kinda just hangs up and with no decisions being made. 10/25 No call from Finance manager or Salesman. 10/26 No call from Finance manager or Salesman. 10/27 No call from Finance manager or Salesman. I call dealer asking them to return my actual vehicle to me as I will not be buying theirs. Out of nowhere, after a week of no contact, the salesman Burl, rises from his grave as a last-ditch effort to make a sale and calls me. I ask why he hasn’t contacted me… His response… I kid you not is… “ the manager said you were mad at me and I shouldn’t call you.” OMG IS THIS REAL LIFE!?!? If you’re wondering if the salesman is 17 yrs old, he is not. To be fair I was/am mad, but I don’t know if the cold shoulder is the best way to sell cars. Granted I am not a salesman =/ 10/27 Early Afternoon – Finance manager text me a link to another jeep, which is $5,000 more and has significantly less options as jeep I wanted to buy. (WHAT A STEAL) 10/28 Dealer calls to plan on returning my car, refuses to deliver vehicle and wants to add 100 miles by driving my vehicle to me after promising to deliver my car back to me at home. New manager response for this whole nightmare is “I was not in the office, sorry that happened.” Hoping this review saves someone some trouble or the dealer treats its next customer like they matter

Bad bad bad

Reviewed by Nichole Shafron from HendersonvilleFebruary 22, 2020

Oh goodness where do I begin... Let's start with the paperwork, the finance lady just put a random number down for the milage of the car we bought on the paperwork. We thought that was strange but didn't think much into it but that should of been sign one to walk away from this place. Not to mention half the paperwork we signed was incorrect. It had a first payment date of 3/21/21... Clearly not correct. We also signed a paper that said there are no known recalls on the truck and if any they have been taken care of. We find out the rear windshield defroster has a recall and has been out since 1/7. So that was not taken care of prior to us purchasing the car according to our VIN. At this point who knows what we signed. She pushes all this nonsense on you like oh if you get this package you can get an extra key for free if you lose yours... Turns out that wasn't needed because after the sale, a few days later Jim the sales guy called and said he found the other key and will be mailing it to me... how convenient they found the other key after pushing that stupid "warranty" item on us. Here's where the real fun begins. We signed all the paperwork we hop in our brand new truck and all of a sudden "airbag service lights" "trailer brake service" lights start going off...We hadn't even left the dealership at that point. We drive a few minutes down the road and these service lights are just going off like crazy. Which was weird because it didn't do that on our test drive. We immediately feel an uneasy feeling of "we just bought a $30k junker" we turn around to the dealership and they say oh no your fine those will go away. So we leave. The lights continued to go off and off. At this point I'm so mad that we drive back to the dealership and I am demanding they give me my car back and they can have their truck back. Of course that didn't happen. The manager Dane tells me he truly cares and he'll make it right if the problems persist after clearing the codes. We feel better we leave and get home. Two weeks go by all was fine then a bunch of service lights started to pop up again and the car is just going nuts spitting out different service items every time we turn the car on. I text Dane the manager and tell him that the error messages are back PLUS other errors. Not to mention they sprayed the bottom carriage of the truck with black stuff which is now chipping away revealing a TON if rust. Dane promises me he will call me today. Which he doesn't until my husband texts him that he's a xxxxxxxx and doesn't even have the decency to call me back. Of course that sparked ol' Danes interest to finally call me. We once again he tells me he is not that kind of guy and he wants to look into a few things and will call me back... Guess what he didn't. I can't say I'm surprised. We just wanted to buy a family car. It's not like this was a cheap truck we spent lots of money on this truck and we feel juked. But we can't change it now I just want to warn anyone to make sure you do not rush through. Do your diligence and make sure the paperwork is correct and the car you are buying has been inspected. I have bought cars from other dealers in the past and this was the worst experience of my life!
