UNAUTHROIZED CHARGES FOR AUTO REPAIR

(Charged for repairs not preformed and upon return billed for unauthorized charges)
I am very disappointed with Clint Newell Auto Group’s service, dishonesty, and incompetence.
We turned our vehicle in to Clint Newell Toyota: Toyota Dealership in Roseburg, OR for various repairs and work [inv: 461168]. This included an electrical inspection because our battery would drain, and would not start without a jump after it sat a few days without being driven. The Toyota Dealership charged $130 [1431 CTT] for an electrical system inspection. Apparently a loose wire was found to be the cause of the battery drain.
A few days out of the shop the battery was dead again. So, I made an appointment with Clint Newell Toyota to take our vehicle back in and leave it for a presumed electrical reinspection.
I explained the problem when turning over my keys to the Clint Newell Toyota Service Advisor 1130. She checked their documentation and told me that:
Although there were charges for the services- she did not see that the actual electric system “work had been done”. Then she left me at the counter, and went off to find the mechanics. Then after a while she yelled back saying “They checked it twice!” (At this point she seemed annoyed.)
I waited for her to return to the desk because regardless of how many times the Clint Newell Toyota Dealership “checked it” my battery was still draining when parked. The Toyota Rep started to go over the cost of the charges for an electrical inspection; however, I was quick to point out that I had just paid this service, which was why I had returned. I expressed that I hoped that there would be no new charges for their reinspection. It seemed something had clearly been missed, or as she suggested- the mechanics may have forgotten to fix the wire. The rep verbally agreed that there would not be any charges for rechecking the electric system. Later the following week she called back and left a message stating that our battery failed a load test, and a new battery could be installed for around $250. She also stated that electrical system could not be checked until we purchased a new battery.
The battery however was just a few months old, had been purchased from Costco, and was still under warranty. I returned the dead battery, and swapped it out with a new one from Costco.
Since being told my battery was dead, I asked for it at the Toyota customer desk assuming that this would be the easiest thing for everyone involved. I assumed that the mechanics would not reinstall a dead battery, and I expected that they could just hand it over. Instead, we waited over 30 minutes for a mechanic to retrieve our battery because for some reason the mechanics supposedly reinstalled a bad battery back into our vehicle after “it failed a load test”.
This is suspicious because the battery was only a few months old. Again according to the Toyota Rep supposedly Clint Newell Toyota team had “checked everything twice “during their first electrical inspection. Had a battery actually been on its last leg- when tested it would have clearly demonstrated load test issues. Batteries do not suddenly go from good to bad overnight. What seemed more likely was that the Clint Newell mechanics had failed to fix the loose cable the first-time round- just as their notes asserted.
Later the Toyota Rep left a message just stating that our vehicle checked out and that it was ready to be picked up. However, when picking up my vehicle the Clint Newell rep billed for a few services including nearly $50 for “installing the battery” [1431 CT inv: 462796].
I balked at this, and the Toyota Rep then stated that she had called us and left a message stating that we were being charged for this. This was BS- the rep was lying- there she never mentioned any charges for any services on the message she left. Being the rep was now clearly lying it now seemed like she had been trying to rip us off with unnecessary charges...

Went in to look for a used car, the guy who we approached to ask what was available looked us up and down automatically asked what we wanted to spend, our credit score, probably assuming we are poor. He quickly abandoned us to help a guy who just pulled up in a newer Camero. We left feeling treated like trash and bought an SUV from Roseburg Honda instead.
Excellent service & easy to deal with!

Best customer service I have had at a car dealership! We had everything set up before I got there so when i sat down to sign I was done in less than 10 minutes! Randy and the staff were very accommodating to my schedule & I got much more for my trade in than I was quoted at 2 other dealerships!
