Better off going to a reputable dealership

So, bought a used car from here. Put $500.00 down to hold it for me ( I guess that's the norm). Salesman stated that they were waiting on a part. Went to see the car on the next business day. Salesman stated that the part came in ( good news). Salesman proceeded to have me and my mom take a test drive. Salesman was in the passenger seat and mom was in the back seat. He didn't even have us take the car on the highway. Got back to the dealership and started in with paperwork. Wouldn't budge on the price of the car, when I went to my bank, they said the car was only worth $5,000.00 and could only cut me a check for $5,100.00. The car was listed at $6,990.00. So my mom ( once again) put the remaining balance on her card. Salesman said " I guarantee it will be ready tomorrow". Well , tomorrow came and the car wasn't ready. Salesman stated " we're waiting on a part and hopefully, maybe it will be ready by Fri". Now mind you, my mom already put the $500.00 down, plus the $1,700. and some change and they already had the check from my bank. And I had already put full coverage insurance on the car. Fri came and tried to get a hold of the salesman, went to voice mail and never got back to me. Called the service department and that guy didn't have a clue. Fri afternoon rolls around and I'm getting ready to call my bank to see if they even cashed the check and the guy from the service department calls and states, " the part came in, the mechanic is doing the inspections". Well, 3 hours pass by and nothing... Since when does the safety and emissions inspections take that long? So mom is over at my place trying to call corporate when my phone rings and it's the guy from the service department. He states " the salesman is gone for the weekend, but the car is ready. Well, this gets even better now. So, I drive off the lot and the car is shimmying. I think, maybe it's just the road. Nope... Get on the highway and it's almost uncontrollable. Finally get home and call my mom. So, Sat morning ( yes have the car less than 24hrs) and I'm back up at the dealership in the service department. The wheels weren't balanced at all. Yes, they fixed that free of charge. However... Drive the car for 4 days and the engine light comes on. Call the salesman... Voice mail ( still haven't heard back to this day. Called the service department again and they say " it will be $165.00 for them to run a diagnostic on it, plus have to pay for the part and labor." Service department states " we're not trying to break the bank, but you will be better off bringing it to us, because we employ certified Chevrolet mechanics and they know what they're doing ". Screw that.... I'm taking the car to a trusted auto repair chain and having them look the whole car over, running a diagnostic, etc... I'd rather give them the money and know what they say is true, have them fix it right and be able to trust them. Why would I want to take it back to the dealership and give them more money when I can't trust anyone there?

Overall good. Explanation of protection packages available was a little confusing. Still waiting for additional options to be delivered and installed.
