extreme disappointment in service

Reviewed by Maggie from JeddoSeptember 08, 2021

I had an appt. for Tuesday morning for my Tahoe and dropped it off Monday afternoon. Stop by the next day around 10:30 just to check on the progress..."they haven't looked at it yet...we will call you in a couple hours." Well 6 hrs went by and my husband had to call them to check on our vehicle...their response was that " it starts every time for us so we don't know what is wrong with it yet" ...my husband figured they didn't even try to check on what could be wrong. My husband asked them to put our vehicle outside so we can pick it up and we are taking it to the dealer in St.Clair. Needless to say that the St.Clair dealership had it figured it in 10 minutes and ordered the part. Shame on the Moran service department for wasting an entire day when this could have been taking care of ....your loss was my gain for experiencing a wonderful service department in St.Clair. All our business will be with them in St.Clair and we are actually ready for a new vehicle!!!

Moran Chevrolet should have done the right thing!

Moran Chevrolet in Ft. Gratiot, Michigan provided me with the worst dealership experience I have ever had in my 30 years of purchasing new vehicles. I turned in a 2018 Traverse 3LT and leased a new 2021 Traverse 3LT. Immediately after getting it home we noticed a high-pitched noise inside the cabin. I called the sales rep and she told me to bring the vehicle back in the morning. The tech couldn’t hear the noise, maybe because it was pouring rain…not sure. The conversation with the sales rep included her telling me (after speaking with her sales manager) that we want to make sure we figure out the issue and if we can’t you can get your trade back, because the paperwork was pulled after I spoke with her the night I picked it up. We want to make sure our customers are happy, she said. I brought the vehicle back the Tuesday after Memorial Day and the same tech got in the car and didn’t hear it the apparent noise. The service manager got in the car and he didn’t hear the apparent noise. Needless to say I was frustrated. Upon speaking with the sales rep post visit, I asked if there were any other vehicles on the lot. There was, but not anything I wanted. I then asked her to get my 2018 Traverse ready for me to pick up, as I wanted to exercise the option to get my vehicle back. She got back to me saying she spoke with her manager and that because the two tech couldn’t hear the apparent noise, they were only willing to redo the paperwork if I lease a different vehicle, but they were not going to honor the promised option to give me my vehicle back. I spoke with the sales manager and he confirmed what the sales rep told me. I was less than happy. He told me that the techs didn’t hear it, so it was functioning within GM factory specifications. Essentially, my family and I were being deceptive. So, because they didn’t hear the apparent noise, it doesn’t exist. Really? He was adamant he was not going to horror the promise to give me my car back, so I asked him one last time, before the situation get elevated within the organization (inferring GM) to “do the right thing.” Unfortunately he dismissed me. Well, I took the vehicle to another dealership this morning and they heard the high-pitched noise immediately. In his words, “I hear it clear as day.” Well, there you have it. Everyone within the Moran Chevrolet organization should be ashamed of how my family and I were treated.
