Orders for the Cadillac Lyriq filled up quickly when they opened in 2022, but the brand aims to add its all-electric SUV to more homes as it ramps up production by simplifying the lineup. For the new model year, there are now three trim levels — Tech, Luxury and Sport — and the EV now comes with more equipment. The 2024 Lyriq starts at $58,590 (all prices include the $1,395 destination charge) — oddly lower than the 2023 model’s starting price.
What’s New for 2024?
Most of the new equipment for the 2024 model year is either standard or optional on the Luxury and Sport trims. Both variants now include a sideways-scanning intersection collision avoidance system with automatic emergency braking as standard (it’s available on the Tech), as well as adaptive headlights. The Tech and Sport trims get new 20- and 22-inch wheel designs.
All Lyriqs have a fixed panoramic moonroof covering both rows of seating, but buyers of Luxury and Sport trims can now opt for a power-opening unit. Those customers can also opt for a black-painted roof with any body color. Additionally, five new exterior color choices are available for the new model year: Argent Silver Metallic, Celestial Metallic, Emerald Lake Metallic, Nimbus Metallic and Red Radiant Tintcoat. Inside, the Luxury and Sport variants now have an available Nappa Leather Package, tri-zone automatic climate control and heated rear outboard seats. A security system is also now available on the two trims.
Trim Levels
The Tech trim level includes forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection; lane departure warning with blind spot collision assistance (the Lyriq will attempt to steer you away from sideswiping another vehicle); rear parking sensors with automatic braking; and a fixed panoramic roof panel. Moving up to the Luxury trim adds vented front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel and adaptive cruise control. It also opens up an options list that includes Nappa leather, a 19-speaker stereo, Cadillac’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous hands-free driving system, a hands-free rear hatch and active noise cancellation. The range-topping Sport mirrors the Luxury trim but adds dark chrome accents, a unique grille and body-color door handles.
All-Electric Power
All trim levels of the 2024 Lyriq are available in rear- or all-wheel drive and offer about the same estimated range: 308 miles for RWD and 307 for AWD, according to Cadillac. A Level 2 charger can accept 19.2 kilowatt-hours, adding up to 51 miles of range per hour. On a public DC fast charger, the Lyriq can add up to 77 miles’ worth of juice in just 10 minutes. RWD variants have a single 340-horsepower electric motor, while AWD variants have a total of 500 hp from two electric motors. A 102-kWh battery pack is standard.
