King Cadillac GMC is the oldest family owned new car dealership in Northeastern CT. Our owner, Greg King is a third generation owner and instills a lot of the business philosophies his grandfather established when he opened his doors to Connecticut GMC customers in 1936. Back then, a smile and a handshake meant a lot. At King Cadillac GMC, we believe what meant a lot in 1936 still means a lot today - and we work and run our Putnam GMC departments with this in mind. We are not the biggest dealer in the region. However, when you walk into our showroom or visit our team in the service and parts department, we don't treat you like "another number" or just a sale. Instead, at our Putnam GMC showroom you can expect to be greeted as if visiting a close friend or member of the family. I had a particular vehicle that I was searching for (a white 2017 Ford Explorer Sport) and had visited 8 dealerships over a span of about 1.5 months. I wanted low mileage, with a clean interior and exterior - but I also wanted a fair price. Being that it was the end of 2020, it was harder to find this, as most of the 2017 leases were bought up earlier in the year.
I went into the searching and buying process expecting honest, professional, and respectful service. I'll share that dealing with all those other dealerships was frustrating and wore on my patience, but definitely helped me feel confident in my decision to do business with Vachon GMC Cadillac!
Jim (sales) and Mike (manager) were fantastic. Jim was really friendly and took the edge off the buying process with his conversation. He was honest (admitted that he obviously wanted to make the sale) but didn't apply a lot of pressure and kept it respectful. Not once did he "honey" or "sweetie" me, or act like I was being too picky.
When I took it for a test drive, I noted that it didn't sound like it should - that something didn't feel right. They brought it right into the shop to check it out and figured out that one of the tires was slightly unbalanced. They had me take it for another drive after that and it drove like a dream. I pointed out that it looked like one of the roof rails needed a fix and they immediately submitted an order to replace the part. On the day that we came to pick up the vehicle, there was now a chip in the windshield, so they made an appointment for me to come back in a week to have the windshield fixed and the roof rail replaced. Everything was handled perfectly and for the first time in my life, I LOVE my vehicle!!
Very pleased with my purchase and my experience at this dealership. Highly recommend reaching out to Jim at Vachon GMC Cadillac if they've got what you're looking for!

Scam! Brought my car in for service to fix a leak in the transmission. They diagnosed it that the seals were bad. They “fixed” that and then after a week I brought the car back because it was still leaking. They told me it needs another $2500 in repairs to the transmission but they never even took the transmission out to inspect it!
