I purchased a vehicle from Cadillac of South San
I purchased a vehicle from Cadillac of South San Francisco on December 30–31, 2024. In my experience, the purchase involved misrepresentation, undisclosed vehicle condition and safety defects, delayed delivery, improper handling of title/registration paperwork, unmet purchase commitments, financial loss, and failure to resolve after repeated escalation. Specifically: • The vehicle was scheduled to ship January 2 but arrived January 10, without a full gas tank or tracking information. • Title and registration paperwork was delayed and initially filled out incorrectly, preventing me from legally using the vehicle for several weeks. • The vehicle had significant rust underneath, a weak headlight, and a trunk defect that caused a head injury. • The vehicle’s previous rental ownership was not disclosed at purchase. • Despite multiple calls, emails, and voicemails, the dealership did not provide resolution or compensation. Due to these issues, my business incurred several thousand dollars in losses. Based on my experience, I would personally not recommend this dealership to anyone. It’s better to stay without a car than purchase from them if you don’t have to. I share this review to warn others and suggest careful inspection and documentation when buying from this dealership.

I experienced what I believe are bait-and-switch sales tactics at this dealership. I advise prospective buyers to exercise caution. The dealer had a specific stock unit advertised on their website at $118,310, with dealer discounts clearly itemized, and no stated customer rebates. Based on this, I initiated the sales process and provided my information to move forward. However, once the dealership learned that I qualified for customer rebates (from General Motors and from Costco), they increased the sales price to $121,000. My understanding is that they adjusted their "dealer contribution" to absorb the value of my rebates, effectively cancelling out any benefit to me. This contradicted the clearly advertised price, which made no mention of required customer rebates to achieve the posted price. When I stated I would complete the purchase if they honored the advertised price and applied my own incentives, they refused. Instead, they insisted that the price of $121,000 stood before customer rebates, even though this was not reflected anywhere on the website. To make matters worse, the following day the same vehicle was re-advertised at a lower price of $108,310, but again, the dealership refused to honor that price. I was told directly: “We don’t care what the website says, the sales price is $121,000 before any rebates.” This conduct was misleading and a poor reflection of fair business practices. In my opinion, this violates the spirit of honest pricing and transparency.

I strongly advise exercising caution when dealing with this dealership. My experience was extremely disappointing and raised several concerns about their business practices. After agreeing to a deal over the phone for a vehicle, Nana confirmed the vehicle was sold to me and that the necessary paperwork would be sent shortly. Despite repeated follow-ups over several hours, the paperwork was never provided. Additionally, the dealership requested a $5,000 deposit and collected my credit card and personal information. Shortly afterward, I was contacted by a salesperson who informed me that the vehicle had been sold to another local buyer. Following this, my attempts to reach the dealership were ignored—calls from my number went unanswered, yet when I called from a different number, the call was picked up immediately. This suggests that my number was deliberately avoided. Based on this experience, I found the dealership’s conduct to be unprofessional and concerning. I recommend potential buyers proceed with extreme caution or consider alternative dealerships.
