Two trims are available: Base and Preferred.

Under the hood, the Encore is powered by a standard 138-hp, turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) comes standard, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is available. Fuel economy for the FWD Encore is an EPA-estimated rating of 26/30 mpg city/highway. It slightly decreases to a 24/29 mpg rating for the AWD Encore.
