The 2023 Buick Encore GX is a subcompact SUV that seats five passengers. It has a lean, chiseled exterior with stretched grille and taillights. Maximum cargo capacity is 50.2 cubic feet with the rear seat folded down.
Three trims are available: Preferred, Select, and Essence.
The Encore GX has two engine options: a standard 137-hp, turbocharged 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine and a more powerful 155-hp, turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder. Two drivetrain configurations are available: a continuously variable transmission with front-wheel drive (FWD) or a nine-speed automatic with all-wheel drive (AWD). Fuel economy for the FWD Encore GX is an EPA-estimated rating of 29/32 mpg city/highway. It decreases to a 26/29 mpg rating for the AWD model.
