  • Revised front-end bumper
  • Standard leather interior
  • Standard Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility
The 2017 Audi S3 is the high-performance version of the A3 compact sedan. It competes with the BMW M235, Mercedes-Benz CLA 250, and Subaru WRX. This year, it has been given a front-end facelift.

Two trims are available: the Premium Plus and Prestige.

Like the A3, the S3 also receives the new S line styling, which includes angular headlights that align with the hexagonal grille and lower fascia. The rear-end has a lower diffuser and quad exhaust tips, completing the sporty look. LED headlights, front fog lights, side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, a rear lip spoiler, and a panoramic moonroof come standard. Optional features include heated side mirrors, unique 19-inch wheels, and Audi Magnetic Ride suspension that continuously adapts to different road conditions for better comfort.

Under the hood
The S3 is powered by a standard 292-hp, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive.

Inside, the S3 has a sporty leather interior with an aluminum-inlay trim and a 60/40-split folding rear seat. The center stack features the standard Audi concert radio system with a color display, CD/MP3 playback, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, and two USB ports. It can be upgraded to the MMI Navigation Plus system with touchpad controls, a Bang and Olufsen premium audio system, and Audi Connect services (subscription required) for 4G LTE connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspot, roadside assistance, stolen vehicle locator, and remote vehicle lock/unlock via smartphone. Standard features include a dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, remote keyless entry, and push-button start. Nappa leather upholstery and sport seats are available as well.

Standard safety features include front airbags, antilock brakes, an electronic stability system, and a backup camera. Rear side airbags are also available.
