Nice comfortable car, great exterior style and roomy backseats. Love the quick speed pick up! Reliable and safe, my teenage daughter has learned to drive in this car.

Loads of tech inside, little bland exterior

by JasonS from Seattle, WA | October 08, 2019

I really love the tech inside the car. The virtual cockpit is just amazing, and CarPlay works well. The stereo has 19 speakers, but doesn’t sound as good as my BMW used to for some reason. The external styling is a little bland. You probably won’t notice this car on the road. It does have a lot of power for a little turbo 4. Car rides a little stiff, but I think that is also partly the 19” tire package the previous owner put on. Overall it is a great medium sized sedan, and I got a great deal coming off someone else’s lease so I am happy.

2017 Audi A4 Overview

New/Notable:

The 2017 Audi A4 is a luxury compact sedan that competes with the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class, and Lexus IS. This year, it has been redesigned to offer better performance and fuel efficiency.

Three trims are available: the Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige.

While retaining Audi’s muted, subtle styling, the redesigned A4 appears more aerodynamic and sleek than its predecessor. The new front fascia, headlights, and tail lights look like geometric iterations of the previous generation. It has a new lightweight structure. Standard features include Xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, power/heated side mirrors with turn signal indicators, a power moonroof, and a dual-pipe exhaust system. Available features include an S-line aerodynamic body kit, a rear spoiler, and automatic dimming side mirrors.

Powering the A4 is a standard 190-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine (2.0 TSFI ultra) mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Opting for the 2.0 TSFI engine tunes the A4 to produce a 252-hp. Front-wheel drive comes standard, while Quattro all-wheel drive is optional. Fuel efficiency for the 2.0 TSFI ultra models is an EPA-estimated 25/33 mpg city/highway. It slightly dips to a 24/31 mpg rating for the 2.0 TSFI models.

Inside, the A4 has a premium leather interior with power front seats and a 40/20/40 split-folding rear seat. The center console features a standard audio system with a 7-inch display, CD/MP3 playback, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, two USB ports, and SD card slots (for up to 64GB cards). It can be upgraded to the premium MMI infotainment system, which includes an 8.3-inch display, an integrated navigation system, satellite radio, and a Bang and Olufsen premium audio system. Standard features include tri-zone automatic climate control, automatic dimming rearview mirror, and ambient lighting. Heated front seats, a memory seat, adaptive cruise control, and remote engine start are available.

The A4 was named a Top Safety Pick Plus by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Standard safety features include a backup camera and a tire pressure monitoring system. Available features include a pedestrian safety monitor, lane departure warning, and lane keep assist.
