After getting an overhaul in 2022, the 2024 Audi A3 lineup is receiving a minor refresh. The 2024 A3 (along with its sporty S3 and performance RS 3 variants) sees trim upgrades and the addition of new standard interior equipment. It also sees a new price: The latest A3 starts at $36,495 (all pricing includes $1,095 destination charge).
With a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, the base A3 generates 201 horsepower; the mid-range S3 variant generates 306 hp off a similar setup; and under the hood of the top-of-the-line RS 3 is a 401-hp, turbo 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine. All engines are paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. The A3 is available in both front- and all-wheel drive, while the S3 and RS 3 variants have standard AWD.
Trim Upgrades
Audi is continuing to offer its optional Black Optic Sport Package for the A3, with the return of 18-inch all-season tires, a sport suspension and black exterior trim. The A3’s optional Convenience Package — which includes a wireless charging pad, auto-dimming mirrors and park assist — now has standard HomeLink functionality built into the rearview mirror. This upgrade is available across all model variants and can be used for controlling garage doors, home security systems and other in-home electronics.
Interior Changes
The lineup’s sportier variant, the S3, now has a standard carbon-themed interior in place of the aluminum-themed inlay. For the model’s Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels, Nappa leather seats will be available as a stand-alone upgrade, whereas it was paired with the optional carbon-matte inlay in the Fine Nappa Leather Package in previous years.
The performance RS 3 variant now also includes a standard carbon-matte inlay. The optional RS Design Package (which includes a black interior with accent stitching on seat belts, seat shoulders, floormats and piping, as well as accent trim on the center bar of the air vents) will be available only in red for the 2024 model year, replacing the green of previous years.
Pricing and Availability
The 2024 A3, S3 and RS 3 will go on sale later in the year. Starting prices for the base Premium trim are listed below; the Premium Plus is $3,600 extra on the A3 and $2,900 extra on the S3, and the S3’s Prestige trim is an additional $4,000.
