The 2017 Acura RLX is a flagship luxury sedan in the lineup. It competes with the Lincoln Continental, Cadillac XTS, and Hyundai Genesis. This year, it remains largely unchanged. The more powerful RLX Sport Hybrid will be covered in a separate overview.

Overall, the RLX has more tame, proportionate styling than its competitors. The front-end features a bold, crest-shaped chrome grille flanked by “jewel-eye” LED headlights. From the profile view, the body lines are clean and subtle. Standard features include heated side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, a power moonroof, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Power-folding side mirrors are available as well.

Under the Hood
The RLX is powered by a standard 310-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Fuel efficiency for the RLX is an EPA-estimated 20/30 mpg city/highway.

Inside, the RLX has a premium perforated leather interior with wood trim. The center stack features two displays. The upper screen is for real-time navigation and parking, while the other for media and climate control. Remote keyless entry, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, HD radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB port come standard. The multimedia system can be upgraded with a Krell premium audio system. Heated/ventilated seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and remote vehicle start are also available.

The RLX comes loaded with standard active safety features, which include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and collision mitigation braking system are also available. A backup camera and a blindspot monitoring system also come standard. A surround-view camera system and front and rear parking sensors are optional.
