The 2017 Acura RDX is a compact luxury SUV that seats five passangers. It offers numerous packages for safety, convenience, and technology. It competes with the Lexus RX 350, BMW X3, and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class.

Last year, the RDX underwent a radical facelift that gave it a more aggressive, aerodynamic “bird’s beak” frontend. The front grille, air vents, and side windows are outlined in chrome for a premium appearance. Standard features include LED headlights, turn signal indicators mirrors, heated side mirrors, a power moonroof, a power liftgate, and 18-inch aluminum wheels. Available features include a roof rack, a trailer hitch receiver, and fog lights.

Powering the RDX is a 279-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and front- (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). Fuel efficiency for the RDX with FWD is an EPA-estimated 20/28 mpg city/highway. With AWD, the rating slightly dips to 19/27 mpg.

Inside, the RDX has a premium leatherette interior with power/heated front seats and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. The center console features a standard audio system that includes a 5-inch color display, CD/MP3 playback, satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, and a USB port. It can be upgraded to an 8-inch touchscreen with an integrated navigation system. Other standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, rear HVAC, a memory seat, push-button start, an automatic dimming mirror, and a ELS Studio premium audio system. Leather upholstery, leather/wood steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, and Siri Eyes Free mode are also available.

Standard safety features include a backup camera and a tire pressure monitoring system. Available features include lane keep assist, a blindspot monitoring system, rear cross traffic alert, and automatic emergency braking.
