In 2024, I moved back to the East Bay of Northern California. Yesterday, February 5th, was my second service appointment with Art Mejia at Hendrick Acura. He was again understanding, pleasant, and honest. His customer service is excellent. Especially important to me is how he answers ALL my questions. I am pleased with Art and with this dealership.

Today, I had a very bad experience and feel frustrated as I was treated unfairly. The dealer refused to sell us a car because we are Canadian not holding US driving license. I mentioned to the salesman that we will provide him with valid documents from the followings: Canadian driver’s license Canadian passport Valid U.S. Visa California residential lease agreement Employment paystubs (showing we live and work in California) Cashier’s check from our U.S. bank account We respectfully explained that, under California and federal regulations, there is no law requiring a buyer to hold a U.S. driver’s license to purchase a vehicle but also, they refused to accept and insisted to provide US driving license. The salesman informed us that is their own policy not to sell cars for non-US driver’s license which is against the regulations in California. Even though I didn't see this on their website. I'm requesting their managers to clearly show us their policy and give us clarification on why this policy is not disclosed publicly for this point unless there is something hidden, we don't know about it.
