2010 Volvo XC70 Overview
An offshoot of the V70, the 2010 Volvo XC70 five-passenger wagon is meant for traveling cross-country in comfort.

The 2010 Volvo XC70 is available in all-wheel-drive 3.2 and T6 trim levels and competes with the Subaru Outback and Volkswagen Passat wagon. The 3.2 is equipped with a 235-horsepower, 3.2-liter inline-6 while the T6 is powered by a 281-horsepower, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6; both are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. New for 2010, the 3.2-liter engine is PZEV rated when sold in California emissions states, but output drops by 10 horses. EPA fuel economy ratings are 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.

The 2010 Volvo XC70 sports a new front grille and sits on 16-, 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels with 8.3 inches of ground clearance. Standard features include aluminum roof rails and power heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, while options include a power liftgate and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Inside, the XC70 offers 98 cubic feet of passenger volume and with 40/20/40 split rear seats folded flat, the XC70 can accommodate an unmatched 72 cubic feet of cargo volume.

Standard features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter and dual-zone automatic climate control. A navigation system with real-time traffic updates, dual-screen entertainment system for backseat passengers and 12-speaker surround-sound system are available as options.

Volvo goes to great lengths to ensure passengers receive the best available safety technologies and the XC70 is just another example of this. Standard features include side-impact and side curtain airbags, an antilock braking system with hydraulic brake assist and electronic stability with traction control. Available proactive features are plenty, starting with a blind spot warning system that detects unnoticed vehicles and a collision warning system that warns you of an impending rear-end collision ahead. A lane departure warning system and adaptive cruise control, which detects traffic ahead and automatically applies the proper amount of brake pressure—are also offered. A collision warning system with brake support alerts the driver to a possible impending collision and applies the necessary brake pressure.

The 2010 Volvo XC70 wagon offers unsurpassed passenger and cargo volume for its segment and will get you to where you’re going in one piece with its class-leading proactive safety technologies.
