2011 Volvo XC60 Overview
If a wagon is too small and an SUV is too big, then the 2011 Volvo XC60 small crossover SUV will fit you just right.
Just because the 2011 Volvo XC60 is the smallest member of the XC-Series doesn’t mean that it’s lacking in features or style. Available in three trim levels: 3.2, 3.2 R-Design and T6, the XC60 features a stylish interior and exterior and two impressive engine choices. A 240-horsepower, 3.2-liter inline-six cranks out 236 pounds-feet of torque, while a low-emissions version, which is sold in select states, creates 230 horsepower and 221 pounds-feet of torque. If you desire a little more pop under the hood, a 300-horsepower, turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder produces 325 pounds-feet of torque for optimal acceleration. Both engines are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission and the 3.2 trims can be had in front- or all-wheel drive, while the T6 comes with all-wheel drive standard.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the 2011 Volvo XC60 gets good mileage depending on whether you opt for AWD or not. Fuel estimates are 17-18 mpg in the city and 22-25 mpg on the highway and the XC60 competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLK, Cadillac SRX, and Lexus RX for luxurious small crossover supremacy.
What sets the XC60 apart from other cars in the Volvo lineup is the angular, supplementary lights inside of the large headlights, and the overall sleeker and sharper lines. The XC60 sits on 17-inch alloy wheels and comes with standard roof rails. For more pizzazz, xenon headlights, a power tailgate, panoramic moonroof, and either 18- or 20-inch wheels are optional. The R-Design model (3.2L and T6) offers aluminum accents, tinted rear windows, silver roof rails, and chrome tailpipes and scuff plates.
Even though the 2011 Volvo XC60 is small in comparison to the larger SUVs, it can still seat up to seven occupants with an optional third-row seat. The second-row bench seat also folds flat providing a total of 67.4 cubic feet of cargo space. A power driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, audio system with USB/iPod and Bluetooth® connectivity, and HD Radio come standard. Heated seats, leather upholstery, a navigation system, and a premium sound system are optional.
As you already know, Volvo takes safety very seriously. Because of that, front-seat side-impact airbags, tow-row side curtain airbags, an electronic stability system, antilock brakes and Volvo’s City Safety system that scans the road for obstacles and applies the brakes if necessary come standard. Integrated second-row booster seats, a higher-speed collision warning system with auto braking, and a lane departure warning system add another layer of safety and are optional.
Ride safe and in style with the versatile and sporty 2011 Volvo XC60 small crossover.
