2011 Volvo C70 Overview
With a fresh redesign and safety that is synonymous with the Volvo brand, the 2011 Volvo C70 hardtop convertible is sure to turn heads.
Exterior changes are front-and-center on the C70. New for 2011 is a more wedge-shaped nose and larger front air intake which changes the character of the front end completely. Along with a new wheel design, LED taillights and two new colors, the 2011 Volvo C70’s refreshed looks help to modernize the convertible. The Volvo C70’s bread and butter feature is the retractable hardtop that takes only 30 seconds to stow or erect. Whether the hardtop is up or down, the 2011 Volvo C70 seats four and boasts ample luggage capacity even when you have the top down. To make cargo loading easier, the Lift Assist function features push-button operation to lift the retracted hardtop out of the way.
Powering the 2011 Volvo C70 is a 227-horsepower, 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five engine, which is mated to a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission. These powertrain pairings yield 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Power and fuel economy numbers are on par with the base engines of the Audi A5 Convertible, BMW 3 Series Convertible and Lexus IS 250C.
The 2011 Volvo C70 also features a redesigned instrument panel, giving the gauges more of a watch-dial look. Dual zone automatic climate control, alloy and leather interior trim, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and a CD player come standard. Volvo offers a series of packages with different amenities for the C70. The Premium Package adds leather seats and Sirius Satellite Radio, while the Dynamic Package adds 18-inch wheels, dual xenon active bending headlights and a three-spoke aluminum-accented steering wheel. The Multimedia Package includes a 12-speaker Dynaudio® sound system with Dolby® surround sound, and Volvo HDD navigation. The Climate Package adds heated front seats and climate control enhancements. Independent options include premium leather seating surfaces and oak interior trim.
Volvo safety is of course a key feature of the 2011 Volvo C70, highlighted by Volvo’s patented front structure with superior crumple zones. Dual front, front side and – here’s a unique surprise – front head airbags on this convertible further enhance safety. Antilock brakes, traction and stability control systems and an available blind spot warning system round out the safety package.
Cruise around with the top down and all the refinement and safety features you could want in the new-look 2011 Volvo C70 hardtop convertible.
