Volkswagen Overview:
Volkswagen was busy this past year—very busy.  With four all-new releases: Tiguan, Routan, Jetta TDI and Passat CC, Volkswagen expanded its already impressive fleet to all corners of the auto spectrum.  For 2010, Volkswagen offers minor updates and refreshes to several vehicles.

The Tiguan, a small SUV, is VW’s answer to the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, but with more off-road capability.  The Routan is VW’s first minivan and is built with Chrysler mechanicals and VW styling. The Routan is as versatile and safe as it is powerful.

The Passat CC takes VW’s popular model, the Passat sedan, and gives it coupe-like styling. The Passat CC has both Sport and Luxury trims and features a 280-horsepower, 3.6-liter VR6 engine. Minor interior and trim changes are implemented for 2010.

The full-size Passat offers a turbocharged four-cylinder or V-6 engine and is offered as both a sedan and wagon with either front- or all-wheel drive.

The best selling compact Jetta sedan embodies VW’s sleek and unique styling in several trim levels, including a SportWagen version. The compact Jetta TDI sedan runs on diesel and boasts an estimated 38 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway, with a range of more than 600 miles between fill-ups.

The performance-oriented GLI sport sedan, based on the Jetta, features a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with additional horsepower, sharper handling and a lowered ride height.

The ultimate pocket rocket, the GTI hatchback is a hot-rod version of the two-door Golf. The Golf and Rabbit are different names for the same car. That being said, Volkswagen has ditched the “Rabbit” for the “Golf.”  The Golf receives changes to the interior, exterior and a new diesel engine.

The sexy Eos convertible has established its own niche as a compact, four-seat retractable-hardtop convertible with an integrated panoramic sunroof. The Eos receives minor interior changes including a new instrument cluster and leather-wrapped steering wheel for 2010.

The capable Touareg 2 SUV has dropped its 4.2-liter V-8 and adopted a 225-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6 diesel.  The Touareg 2 seats five and comes with standard all-wheel drive and some minor trim changes for 2010.

The adorable New Beetle may be the most unique car on the road today. The compact New Beetle gets decent mileage and is synonymous with youthful styling. The New Beetle has many options and trim levels available for its hatchback and convertible models.
