2009 Volkswagen Touareg 2 Overview
The 2009 Volkswagen Touareg 2 combines the strength and payload of an SUV with the sophistication and style of a high end sedan. The Touareg 2 seats five passengers to accommodate a day of powerful off-roading or a trip to the mall for some power shopping (it has the luggage capacity of 31 cubic feet).
The Touareg 2 is available with three engine options. The 3.6-liter V-6 (which can generate 280-horsepower) is the entry-level engine. While the 2009 version is mostly a carryover from the 2008 model, the previous edition's 5.0-liter V-10 TDI version of the engine has been discontinued. All engines are controlled by a six-speed Triptronic automatic transmission complete with overdrive. All employ 4XMotion permanent all-wheel drive for your off-roading needs. Depending on which engine you choose, the Touareg 2 gets between 13 and 14 MPG in the city and 18 to 20 MPG on the highway.
