Toyota Yaris vs. Mazda MAZDA3 Review

Performance
As far as horsepower, the Mazda MAZDA3 packs quite a wallop and will knock the Toyota Yaris down a few rungs. On the other hand, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
Really small tires, like the ones on the Toyota, can provide better handling in deep snow but might also look a little odd. With their similar turning circles, the Toyota Yaris and the Mazda MAZDA3 definitely handle roughly the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Toyota Yaris's engine is considerably smaller than the Mazda's. Keep in mind that smaller engines can be stressed more; however, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. Convenience
You doubtless won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Yaris than with the Mazda MAZDA3, because both offer similar mileage ranges.

While the front cabin in the Mazda offers a bit more head room than the Toyota Yaris, there really isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Mazda MAZDA3 offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the Toyota Yaris, there really isn't much of a difference.
