Toyota Yaris vs. Kia Spectra5 Review

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Kia Spectra5 to the dealership as the Toyota Yaris. The Toyota Yaris will save you money at the pump compared to the Kia Spectra5. As far as gas mileage, the Toyota Yaris has the Kia Spectra5 beat. The Kia Spectra5 is significantly pricier than the Toyota Yaris as far as MSRP.

Utility
Neither the Toyota Yaris nor the Spectra5 has a marked advantage with respect to seating capacity.

Convenience
You quite certainly won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Toyota than with the Kia, as both offer comparable ranges.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Kia offers a bit more head room than the Toyota Yaris, there really isn't much of a difference. The Kia Spectra5 offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Toyota Yaris does.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Kia Spectra5 than the Yaris because of its bigger tank. The Yaris fits in smaller parking spaces than the Kia Spectra5.

Performance
As far as horsepower, the Kia Spectra5 packs quite a punch and will knock the Yaris down a few rungs. On the flip side, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With their similar turning circles, the Toyota Yaris and the Kia Spectra5 definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Kia Spectra5's engine is significantly more massive than the Toyota Yaris's. Keep in mind that more sizeable engines may use more gasoline than smaller ones. The Yaris could learn a lesson or two from the Kia Spectra5 with respect to torque. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Spectra5 is significantly more powerful than the Toyota Yaris.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the Toyota Yaris isn't quite as generous as the Spectra5's.
