Toyota Yaris vs. Honda Insight Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Honda Insight to the dealership as the Yaris. Producing an exact gas mileage evaluation is so tricky that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Honda Insight is the winner as far as gas mileage. Regarding MSRP, the Honda Insight costs tremendously more than the Toyota Yaris. The Toyota Yaris will cost you a bundle in gas every year compared to the Honda Insight.

Utility
Neither the Toyota nor the Honda Insight has a marked advantage regarding seating capacity.

Convenience
You will have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Toyota Yaris than with the Honda Insight.

Comfort
Taller drivers will considerably enjoy the extra head room in the Toyota Yaris's front cabin compared to the Honda. The Yaris offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Honda Insight does.

Dimensions
The Honda Insight's tank is approximately the same size as the Toyota Yaris's, though the Toyota Yaris's is a little larger. The Toyota Yaris fits in smaller parking spaces than the Honda Insight.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Toyota Yaris is definitely nimbler than the Honda Insight, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Honda Insight's engine is somewhat smaller than the Toyota Yaris's, but not terribly so. Torque equals pickup, and the Toyota Yaris will have picked up and gone by the time the Honda Insight finally gets moving. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Yaris is substantially more powerful than the Honda.

Warranty
The Honda and the Toyota Yaris have the same basic after-sale protection.
