2009 Toyota Yaris Overview
Toyota’s reputation for value has allowed many car buyers to reap the benefits of the automaker’s strong attention to reliability. And with the 2009 Toyota Yaris – their least-expensive model – shoppers will find a vehicle that stretches their money to the furthest automotive limits.

Available in a sedan, as well as a two- and four-door hatchback style, the Yaris boasts a 106-horsepower, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 103 pound-feet of torque under the hood. Available five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmissions make for smooth gear shifting. Nearly the same size as its sister Corolla, the Yaris is capable of a remarkably sharp 32.6-foot turning radius for the sedan and 30.8-foot for the hatchback.

Shining brightly amidst similarly sized compact competitors like the Chevrolet Aveo, Honda Fit and Hyundai Accent, the Yaris offers more features even as the smallest hatchback in its class. And fuel economy is virtually unmatched, proudly going the distance of any marathon trip at a 29 MPG city and 35-36 MPG highway clip.

With a functional yet unconventional interior design, the Yaris provides for a center-mounted instrument cluster like its sister Camry. An available 60/40-split rear seat reclines for added cargo room. Optional remote keyless entry and power windows and locks are desired amenities for added driving ease.

Safety features are laden across the Yaris, which for a compact vehicle is crucial in emergency maneuvers. Side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags and antilock brakes with electronic brake force distribution come standard. Additional provisions call for optional daytime running lamps and a security key that immobilizes the engine in cases of ignition tampering.

With an affordable price and offering that will appeal to the masses, getting bang for the buck has never been an easier decision for today’s car shopper than what can be found in the 2009 Toyota Yaris.
