Toyota Venza vs. Volvo XC70 Review

Neither the XC70 nor the Toyota Venza has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity. The Volvo is a better choice than the Toyota Venza regarding transporting cargo, especially if you frequently need to carry a lot of suitcases or big animals. There's little the Toyota Venza can tow that the Volvo XC70 cannot.

Dimensions
The Volvo XC70 is considerably more bulky than the Venza. The Toyota Venza's tank is roughly the same size as the Volvo XC70's, though the XC70's is slightly bigger. The Toyota Venza and the XC70 compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
The XC70's fuel tank will need to be replenished slightly more often than the unit in the Toyota Venza.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Toyota Venza to the dealership as the Volvo XC70. The Toyota Venza will save you money at the pump compared to the Volvo XC70. The Volvo XC70 will tax your gasoline budget substantially more than the Toyota Venza will. With respect to MSRP, the Toyota costs tremendously less than the Volvo.

Handling
With their similar turning radii, the Volvo XC70 and the Toyota Venza most certainly handle roughly the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Toyota Venza's engine is significantly smaller than the Volvo XC70's. Keep in mind that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; however, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. The Toyota Venza could learn a lesson or two from the Volvo with respect to torque. The Volvo XC70 packs quite a wallop compared to the Toyota Venza when it comes to torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Toyota Venza offers a bit more head room than the Volvo, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Venza provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Volvo XC70 does.

Warranty
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Toyota Venza isn't quite as generous as the Volvo XC70's.
