Toyota Venza vs. Volkswagen Passat Review

Performance
Regarding horsepower, the Toyota Venza packs quite a wallop and will knock the Volkswagen down a few rungs. However, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Volkswagen is quite certainly nimbler than the Toyota Venza, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Toyota Venza has a more massive engine than the Volkswagen. Note that smaller engines typically get better gas mileage, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. Torque equals pickup, and the Volkswagen Passat will have picked up and gone by the time the Toyota Venza finally gets moving.
