Toyota Venza vs. Mercedes-Benz R-Class Review

The Mercedes-Benz will definitely prove friendlier than the Venza for those of you with frequent kid-cargo.

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Toyota Venza packs quite a wallop and will knock the Mercedes-Benz R-Class down a few rungs. On the other hand, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Mercedes-Benz R-Class is considerably heavier than the Toyota Venza. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Mercedes-Benz R-Class than the Venza because of its bigger tank. The Venza and the Mercedes-Benz R-Class compete for the same parking spaces. The Mercedes-Benz R-Class's longer wheelbase will likely result in a smoother, more stable ride; however, the Toyota may give a more agile feel in daily traffic.

Convenience
The Toyota's fuel tank will need to be replenished a bit more often than the unit in the Mercedes-Benz.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Toyota is considerably cheaper to get to the dealership than the Mercedes-Benz. Producing a precise fuel economy evaluation is so difficult that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the Toyota Venza and the Toyota Venza perform almost comparably as far as gas mileage. The Toyota won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Mercedes-Benz R-Class. As far as MSRP, the Toyota Venza costs tremendously less than the Mercedes-Benz R-Class.

With their similar turning radii, the Toyota Venza and the Mercedes-Benz R-Class likely handle roughly the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Mercedes-Benz R-Class has a more sizeable engine than the Toyota Venza. Keep in mind that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. Torque equals pickup, and the R-Class will have picked up and gone by the time the Toyota Venza finally gets moving. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the R-Class is substantially more powerful than the Venza.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the R-Class offers a bit more head room than the Venza, there really isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Toyota Venza offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the Mercedes-Benz R-Class, there really isn't much of a difference.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the Venza isn't quite as generous as the Mercedes-Benz R-Class's.
