Toyota Venza vs. Kia Soul Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Kia Soul to the dealership as the Toyota. The Kia Soul will save you money at the pump compared to the Venza. The Venza pales in comparison to the Kia Soul regarding fuel economy. As far as MSRP, the Kia Soul costs tremendously less than the Toyota Venza.

Utility
The Toyota Venza and the Soul can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
The Kia Soul's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Toyota Venza.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Kia Soul offers a bit more head room than the Toyota Venza, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Kia is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the Toyota Venza.

Dimensions
The Toyota Venza is tremendously more bulky than the Kia Soul. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Toyota Venza than the Soul because of its larger tank. The Kia Soul fits in smaller parking spaces than the Toyota. The Toyota Venza's longer wheelbase will result in a smoother, more stable ride; however, the Kia Soul may give a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic.

Performance
As far as horsepower, the Toyota Venza packs quite a wallop and will knock the Kia down a few rungs. On the other hand, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Kia Soul is definitely sprier than the Toyota Venza, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Toyota has a more massive engine than the Kia. Note that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix, but smaller engines can be stressed more. The Kia Soul could learn a lesson or two from the Toyota Venza as far as pickup. The Venza packs quite a wallop compared to the Kia Soul when it comes to torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration.

Warranty
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Toyota isn't quite as generous as the Kia Soul's.
