2014 Toyota Tacoma Overview
The Toyota Tacoma midsize pickup truck is available in three cab styles: regular cab, Access Cab and Double Cab. Regular and Access cabs come with 6-foot beds, while the Double Cab can be had with either a 5- or 6-foot bed. The Tacoma can seat up to five people in certain configurations. It competes with the Nissan Frontier.
TRD packages feature a 115-volt power outlet in the cargo bed. There is a dent-resistant composite inner liner in cargo bed. Regular cab Tacomas include standard 15-inch wheels, with 16-, 17-, 18-inch alloy wheels optional. Furthermore there is an optional skid plate for the engine.
The Tacoma features air conditioning, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, fabric upholstery, and available heated front seats. Power windows and locks, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and cruise control all available.
Under the Hood
A 159-horsepower, 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine run standard, with an available 236-hp, 4.0-liter V-6. Both engines run on regular gas, and a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission is available for the four-cylinder trucks, while a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic is available for the V-6 trucks. All trucks come standard with automatic limited-slip differential.
The Tacoma features side-impact and side curtain airbags, antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, traction control, electronic stability system, three-point seat belts in all seating positions, and driver and front-passenger active head restraints- all standard. Additional option to add backup camera available.
