I loved my 2007 Sienna - I can't understand some of the changes made on the 2013 - why are the rear vent windows no longer motorized - why did they remove the latching on the rear hatch and what's the logic with the radio as you change between Am / FM and Satellite the presets don't follow -

The main selling point was reliability based on Consumer Reports ranking, however in safety Honda is many years ahead. Check out the side pole crash testing at safecar.gov as well as Insurance Institute small frontal overlap testing and Hondas are significantly better. Our worst experience was at the dealer in Dover, DE. They verbally agreed on price and terms then when we went for delivery they changed many things. Get everything in writing signed by the owner at this dealership, or else it will be changed on you at the last minute to favor the dealer.

Excellent Engineering

Reviewed by Mozart

Overall, Sienna is a well designed minivan. It's great for families with little ones or even adults. The ability to quickly and easily enter and exit are superior to even large SUV's...which I love also by the way. This Sienna is very nimble and easy to park...it has a great turning radius. The engine has good power and shifts smoothly. The smart key and push button door openings are tremendously convenient. The only negatives are that the steering is a little numb in the XLE during highway driving. I would recommend getting the SE version. The XLE isn't quite as easily to maneuver on the highways or at higher speeds....the confidence isn't there. It isn't a sedan but I think the electric power steering needs to be tighter, like in the SE. I purchased the XLE simply because there wasn't a leather option available in the SE that also included the Navigation package. Also, the drivers left foot is affected by the firewall of the left front wheel. It needs to be pushed forward out the way about 4 to 6 inches. Also, the navigation system/radio ergonomics needs to be redone...it's lazy engineering. The old simple way with at least a few dials for important functions like fan speed and radio tuning need to be put back. Simplicity and easy of operation of the navigation/etune/radio system is it's biggest weakness in my option. Otherwise, the 2013 Sienna is another example of Toyotas superior engineering...the best v-6 and transmission on the planet...lower friction, better materials and components and overall superior execution in these critical areas makes this a good buy.

Perfect for our needs!

This Sienna was purchased for the main purpose of transporting seniors for a church. Its perfect for this because of its closeness to the ground, the two side sliding doors, and how the seats move easily out of the way for access to the back row of seating. We're very happy with it!

This thing ROCKS.. converted Soccermom and happy

Reviewed by MamaTechGeekPrincessShopaholic
December 17, 2012

Let me start off by saying I was looking for an AWD/4WD vehicle that could seat 5-7 people comfortably for road trips. I started with a 2010 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited - fully loaded. The problem was, with the 3rd row seat UP, there is absolutely NO cargo space - literally I couldn't put my daughter's skinny backpack back there without smashing it. SOOo after 2 years of luxe, I came to my senses and broke down and became THE VANILLA SOCCER MOM... bought the only AWD Sienna on the lot - a white LE model. Bare bones, and still I could not be happier. The Sienna handles really well - the lower center of gravity vs. the Highlander pays off. Plus the short nose allows for 'hamster in a habit-trail' tight turns. Comfort even at the LE level is good - space is AMAZING.. I feel like I'm driving an RV. Power is adequate - 266 HP vs the 270 in the Highlander, but a bigger car - I'm not missing much. The Highlander Hybrid had more torque = quicker starts, but the Sienna AWD LE is performs admirably. SPACE... that's why we traded in and that's what I got - with the 3rd row seats up, I can still put a full load of groceries (even a Costco sized grocery run) in the back. The 60/40 3rd row split allows for more cargo space without giving up too much human space - a definite plus. On the base Sienna you will still get Bluetooth phone/audio (great with my iPhone 4s), a back up camera (very small screen, but workable), dual sliding doors, and pre-installed window shades - a very nice feature with little ones that scream when the sun shines in their eyes. Gas mileage is MEH... but I drive freeway most of the time. I can get 25 MPG on the freeway if I behave... that's great. In town, not so lucky. Sticker says 16 MPG... since my driving is mixed, it's about 18. Even if I add a DVD player for a couple hundred bucks - I'm looking at $20g less than the Highlander Hybrid Limited, more USEABLE space and comfort. This was a definite UPGRADE in family vehicle comfort and usability. Somewhat stylish, decent price, good handling, okay gas mileage... I'm in heaven! Until they come out with a hybrid/electric AWD minivan. I give them 2 years...

Nice van

Beautiful, very comfortable, and nice van to own. My only complaint is that the exterior trim (door guards, chrome accents, etc.) needs to be listed as options and/or included in the cost of the vehicle. I was able to purchase the splash guards and special ordered the hood protector so it reveals the Toyota emblem on the hood! Overall, I am extremely happy!

My SUV. Sport Utility Van!

Reviewed by Spinning Wheels
November 15, 2012

I had been spinning my wheels trying to decide what vehicle was best for our family with two kids. Came down to the Honda CRV, Honda Odyssey, Toyota Highlander, or Toyota Sienna. I felt I only needed/wanted front wheel drive even though I live in the northeast. And I wanted cloth seats for the comfort. I was leaning towards the Odyssey and may have bought one if I went shopping on a different day,(I almost did buy one). But I had read some reviews about brake wear issues, steering feel, loudness of the ac motor at idle, premature wear of the cloth seats, and road noise of the Odyssey. I drove them both and bought the Toyota Sienna LE. What I like about the Sienna is, plenty of power, ability to manually downshift (to save wear on the brakes), as I live where it's hilly, smooth, quite ride, sliding second row seats, Eco light that helps me drive without being a lead foot, included roof rails and cross bars, perceived quality (my wife has a 2006 Camry, and it's been a problem free car), the back up camera, USB port, power sliding doors, hidden sliding door rails and rear wiper, and all the room inside. There are a few things I wish for though. I wish the console in between the two front seats was sliding so you could slide it in between the two second row seats, (there are no cup holders/try within reach of kids in car seats in the second row. The cloth seats are very light colored and although look great, seem like they will soil easy. An old style radio antenna up front. And it's hard to judge where your bumper is up front when pulling into a parking spot that has a curb or something in front of it. And the best part, as a guy, I can still say I drive an SUV. A Sport Utility Van. ; ) And so far, we really like it!
