  • Available Connected Navigation system
  • Full 5-star overall crash test rating from the NHTSA
The 2016 Toyota Sienna is a sporty-looking minivan that offers a number of modern conveniences for the family. It competes with the Honda Odyssey, Dodge Caravan, and Chrysler Town & Country.

Eight trim levels are available: the L, LE, SE, SE Premium, XLE, XLE Premium, Limited, and Limited Premium.

Dubbed the “Original Swagger Wagon,” the Sienna continues to sport an aerodynamic front-end on its large frame. Upgrading to the SE trim adds underbody styling, fog lights, and larger 18-inch wheels to the Sienna. A moonroof, heated side mirrors, power-sliding doors for the sides and rear, and a trailer hitch receiver are also available.

Powering the Sienna minivan is a 266-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It comes standard with a front-wheel drive (FWD) configuration, but all-wheel drive (AWD) is available as well. Fuel economy for the Sienna with FWD is 18/25 mpg city/highway, and 16/23 mpg for the AWD version.

Inside, the Sienna has standard seating for seven passengers, which includes a split, folding rear seat and a split-bench third-row seat. An 8-passenger configuration is also available. The standard 3.5-inch information display can be upgraded to a 4.2-inch color display and Toyota’s Entune multimedia system. Entune has convenient features such as Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, an Eyes Free mode with Siri-voice recognition, a Connected Navigation system with smartphone synchronization, and a JBL premium audio system. Other standard features include air conditioning, cruise control, three-zone automatic climate control, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and remote keyless entry.

The Sienna earned an overall 5 out of 5-star crash test safety rating from the NHTSA. It comes standard with a variety of airbags including side-impact airbags for the front seats, knee airbags, and side curtain airbags. Other standard features include a backup camera, antilock brakes, and an electronic stability system. A blind spot monitor, an anti-theft system, and Toyota’s Safety Connect service (with subscription) are also available.
