Toyota RAV4 vs. Subaru Forester Review

Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Toyota RAV4 over the Subaru. Towing is substantially more the Subaru Forester's forte than it is the Toyota's.

Performance
In terms of horsepower, the Toyota RAV4 packs quite a wallop and will knock the Subaru Forester down a few rungs. On the other hand, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Toyota RAV4's tank is approximately the same size as the Subaru's, though the Subaru Forester's is a tad larger. The Subaru Forester and the Toyota RAV4 compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
You'll quite certainly take the Toyota RAV4 for a fill-up roughly as often as the Subaru Forester.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Subaru Forester is substantially cheaper to get to the dealership than the Toyota. With respect to fuel economy, the Subaru is slightly better than the Toyota RAV4, but not by much. The RAV4 won't tax your gasoline budget considerably more than the Forester will. When it comes to MSRP, the Toyota doesn't cost much less than the Subaru Forester.

Handling
With their similar turning circles, the Subaru Forester and the RAV4 definitely handle almost the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Subaru Forester's engine is a tad smaller than the Toyota RAV4's, but not terribly so. The Subaru Forester has no lessons to learn when it comes to pickup from the Toyota RAV4.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Subaru offers a bit more head room than the Toyota RAV4, there really isn't much of a difference. The Subaru Forester is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the Toyota.

Warranty
The Toyota RAV4 and the Forester have the same basic after-sale protection.
