The Pontiac Torrent is likely to feel a tad slow because of its high horsepower-to-weight ratio. With its very low horsepower-to-weight ratio, the Toyota RAV4 will knock you back into your seat when you accelerate.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Toyota RAV4 is quite certainly more agile than the Pontiac Torrent, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Toyota RAV4's engine isn't much more sizeable than the Pontiac Torrent's. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Toyota RAV4 is substantially more powerful than the Pontiac Torrent.
