Toyota RAV4 vs. Dodge Journey Review

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Dodge Journey is substantially cheaper to get to the dealership than the Toyota. The Dodge Journey will tax your gasoline budget considerably more than the Toyota will. With respect to gas mileage, the Toyota RAV4 and the Dodge Journey don't differ much. The Journey isn't much pricier than the Toyota RAV4 when it comes to MSRP.

Utility
Neither the Toyota RAV4 nor the Dodge Journey has a marked advantage with respect to seating capacity. The Dodge Journey is likely a better choice than the Toyota RAV4 when it comes to hauling capacity, especially if you frequently need to carry a lot of suitcases or dogs.

Convenience
The Toyota RAV4's fuel tank will need to be replenished slightly more often than the unit in the Journey.

Comfort
The Toyota offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Dodge does.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Dodge than the Toyota RAV4 because of its larger tank. The Toyota RAV4 and the Dodge compete for the same parking spaces. The Toyota RAV4's shorter wheelbase will likely give a sprier feel in daily traffic. On the flip side, the Journey is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Toyota RAV4 is most certainly more maneuverable than the Dodge Journey, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Dodge Journey's engine is slightly smaller than the Toyota RAV4's, but not terribly so. The Journey has no lessons to learn in terms of torque from the Toyota RAV4.

Warranty
The Dodge Journey and the Toyota have the same basic after-sale protection.
