Toyota Prius vs. Saturn Aura Hybrid Review

Performance
Regarding horsepower, the Aura Hybrid packs quite a wallop and will knock the Toyota Prius down a few rungs. However, remember that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Toyota Prius is most certainly nimbler than the Aura Hybrid, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, bear in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Aura Hybrid's engine is substantially more massive than the Toyota's. Remember that more sizeable engines may use more gas than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Saturn Aura Hybrid will have picked up and gone by the time the Prius finally gets moving. The Saturn Aura Hybrid packs quite a punch compared to the Toyota Prius regarding torque, which is the force that lets you accelerate quickly.

Utility
The Toyota and the Aura Hybrid can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
The Saturn Aura Hybrid's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Toyota Prius.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Saturn Aura Hybrid offers a bit more head room than the Toyota, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Aura Hybrid is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the Toyota Prius.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Saturn Aura Hybrid than the Toyota Prius because of its larger tank. The Toyota Prius and the Saturn Aura Hybrid compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the Saturn to the dealership as the Toyota Prius. With respect to fuel economy, the Toyota Prius beats the Saturn Aura Hybrid. Producing an exact gas mileage evaluation is so tough that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Toyota Prius is the winner when it comes to fuel economy. As far as MSRP, the Saturn Aura Hybrid costs roughly as much as the Toyota Prius (though the Toyota Prius is a bit cheaper). The Saturn Aura Hybrid will cost you a lots_of_money in gasoline every year compared to the Toyota Prius.

Overview
The Aura Hybrid and the Toyota Prius have the same basic after-sale protection.
