Toyota Prius vs. Pontiac G6 Review

Utility
The Prius and the Pontiac G6 can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Performance
As far as horsepower, the Pontiac G6 packs quite a punch and will knock the Toyota Prius down a few rungs. On the flip side, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Pontiac than the Prius because of its larger tank. The Toyota Prius and the Pontiac G6 compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
The G6's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Toyota.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Pontiac G6 to the dealership as the Toyota Prius. The Toyota Prius will save you money at the pump compared to the Pontiac G6. Producing an exact fuel economy evaluation is so tricky that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Toyota Prius is the winner with respect to fuel economy. The Pontiac G6 isn't much more expensive than the Toyota Prius when it comes to MSRP. The Pontiac will cost you a bundle in gas every year compared to the Toyota.

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the Toyota Prius and the G6 most certainly handle almost the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Toyota Prius's engine is significantly smaller than the Pontiac G6's. Bear in mind that smaller engines can be stressed more; on the flip side, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque equals pickup, and the G6 will have picked up and gone by the time the Toyota Prius finally gets moving. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the G6 is considerably more powerful than the Toyota Prius.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the G6 offers a bit more head room than the Toyota Prius, there honestly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Pontiac provides a bit more head- and leg-room than the Prius, there frankly isn't much of a difference.

Warranty
The Pontiac G6 and the Toyota Prius have the same basic after-sale protection.
