Toyota Prius vs. Ford Fusion Hybrid Review

Performance
As far as horsepower, the Fusion Hybrid packs quite a punch and will knock the Toyota Prius down a few rungs. On the other hand, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Toyota Prius is definitely more maneuverable than the Ford Fusion Hybrid, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Ford Fusion Hybrid's engine is substantially more sizeable than the Toyota Prius's. Bear in mind that larger engines may use more gas than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Ford Fusion Hybrid will have picked up and gone by the time the Toyota finally gets moving.

Utility
The Toyota Prius and the Ford Fusion Hybrid can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
The Toyota Prius's fuel tank will need to be replenished a little more often than the unit in the Ford Fusion Hybrid.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Ford Fusion Hybrid offers a bit more head room than the Toyota Prius, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Ford Fusion Hybrid is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the Toyota Prius.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Ford Fusion Hybrid than the Toyota Prius because of its larger tank. The Prius and the Fusion Hybrid compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the Ford Fusion Hybrid to the dealership as the Toyota Prius. The Ford Fusion Hybrid pales in comparison to the Toyota Prius with respect to fuel economy. Producing a precise fuel economy evaluation is so difficult that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Toyota is the winner as far as gas mileage. The Toyota Prius isn't much less pricey than the Ford Fusion Hybrid in terms of MSRP. The Ford Fusion Hybrid will cost you a lots_of_money in gasoline every year compared to the Toyota Prius.

Overview
The Ford Fusion Hybrid and the Toyota Prius have the same basic after-sale protection.
