The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Fusion to the dealership as the Toyota Prius. The Toyota Prius will save you money at the pump compared to the Ford Fusion. Producing an exact gas mileage evaluation is so hard that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Toyota Prius is the winner regarding gas mileage. With respect to MSRP, the Ford Fusion costs about as much as the Toyota (though the Toyota is a tad cheaper). The Toyota will save you a lots_of_money at the pump every year compared to the Ford Fusion.

The Toyota and the Ford Fusion can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
The Ford Fusion's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Toyota Prius.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Ford offers a bit more head room than the Toyota Prius, there honestly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Ford Fusion provides a bit more head- and leg-room than the Toyota Prius, there really isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Ford Fusion than the Toyota Prius because of its larger tank. The Toyota and the Ford Fusion compete for the same parking spaces.

Performance
Regarding horsepower, the Ford Fusion packs quite a wallop and will knock the Toyota down a few rungs. On the flip side, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Toyota Prius is most certainly nimbler than the Ford Fusion, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.
