Toyota Land Cruiser vs. Mercedes-Benz GL-Class Review

Drivers with frequent child-duty might favor the Land Cruiser over the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. There's no clear winner between the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and the Toyota Land Cruiser in terms of hauling capacity. There's little the Toyota can tow that the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class cannot.

Dimensions
The Toyota Land Cruiser's tank is about the same size as the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class's, though the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class's is a tad larger. The Land Cruiser and the Mercedes-Benz compete for the same parking spaces. The Toyota Land Cruiser's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a nimbler feel in daily traffic than the Mercedes-Benz.

Convenience
You likely won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Toyota Land Cruiser than with the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, as both offer similar mileage ranges.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Toyota Land Cruiser to the dealership as the Mercedes-Benz. In terms of MSRP, the Toyota Land Cruiser costs approximately as much as the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class (though the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is a tad cheaper).

With their comparable turning circles, the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Mercedes-Benz definitely handle roughly the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Toyota Land Cruiser has a more sizeable engine than the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. Note that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Toyota Land Cruiser is substantially more powerful than the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. Torque equals pickup, and the Toyota will have picked up and gone by the time the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class finally gets moving.

Comfort
Taller drivers will substantially enjoy the extra head room in the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class's front cabin compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser. The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Toyota Land Cruiser does.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the Toyota Land Cruiser isn't quite as generous as the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class's.
